This three-story mixed-use multifamily building contains fourteen apartments and four commercial spaces on the ground floor. The project responds to the city’s densification program by pursuing a more compact urban model and reinterpreting the traditional “vecindad” housing typology through a sequence of open courtyards and covered corridors that organize privacy and natural light. It also operates as sustainable water infrastructure: rooftops and open spaces collect rainwater and store it in cisterns, helping manage stormwater runoff and reduce pressure on the city’s drainage system.
