The installation seeks to make the capital’s largely invisible water infrastructure visible, drawing on the scale and materiality of the Túnel Emisor Oriente (TEO), one of the world’s largest hydraulic engineering projects. The proposal reflects on the city’s water “paradox”: vast resources are spent removing the rainwater that causes flooding, while the city simultaneously faces water scarcity and land subsidence caused by groundwater extraction. A large circular forum was built using elements that evoked the tunnel’s concrete components, creating a place for gathering and reflecting on the territory.
